Destin Event Paddle at the Porch Back For Second Year

Paddle at the Porch Destin eventLooking for something fun to spice up your Destin vacation this summer? Look no further than the second annual Paddle at the Porch. 

A stand up paddle board race, Paddle at the Porch will be on Aug. 17. To register for the Destin event, visitors can register online before Aug. 14 or in person at the Destin Chamber of Commerce at 4484 Legendary Drive, Suite A, by 3 p.m. on Aug. 16. Day of registration is also available from 8 – 9:30 a.m. at the Destin event.

Early registration fee is $60, and day of registration is $70. The first 150 registered racers will receive a commemorative race t-shirt.

Racers have the choice to compete in a one mile recreational race, three mile recreational race and a six mile elite race. Special prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place finishers for men and women in each category, as well as to winners in the 50+ and 18 and under categories. Free food will be given after the race.

Prior to the beginning of the race, a mandatory race meeting will be held at 9:40 a.m. Here, Destin event organizers will go through the rules of the race and answer any questions entrants might have.

The Paddle at the Porch Destin event will be located behind The Back Porch Seafood & Oyster House. The Paddle at the Porch race is a combined effort between the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce, 99 Rock WKSM and BOTE.
