Heather Hayes, Blue Highway, and Other Big Names to Perform Concerts in Destin FL
This September is a great time for music lovers to visit the Emerald Coast! Destin, Florida will be hosting a number of excellent bands, including the Heather Hayes Experience, Blue Highway, and other wonderful musical groups. Heather Hayes Experience
If you are going to be in Destin over Labor Day weekend, you won’t want to miss the Heather Hayes Experience at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village. This is a high energy, crowd-pleasing dance band that performs Motown and Top 40 hits in its own distinctive style.
Heather Hayes, the daughter of legendary soul singer Issac Hayes, fronts this large and talented band. You can expect rousing covers of songs made famous by artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Lady Gaga, Journey, Earth Wind & Fire, The Temptations and many others. These performances are not only about great music, but creating a festive atmosphere where hardly anyone can resist dancing to the timeless tunes.
The Heather Hayes Experience will be in Destin on Sunday, September 6, 2015. Doors open at 6:15 and the concert runs from 7 – 9 p.m. Tickets are $26 general admission and $21 for Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation members. VIP tables are also available.
Another one of the great concerts in Destin FL this September is Bluegrass at the Beach, an all-day event featuring Blue Highway, one of the nation’s most celebrated bluegrass bands. Bluegrass at the Beach is a new, one-day festival held at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village.
Blue Highway, which began performing back in 1994, consists of five talented musicians and a variety of traditional instruments, including guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and banjo. The group has won numerous awards, such as Bluegrass Album of the Year in 2014, and has been nominated for two Grammys.
In addition to Blue Highway, a number of other excellent bands will perform at Bluegrass at the Beach including:

- Run Boy Run
- Moore Brothers Band
- Dread Clampitt
- Dismal Creek
Bluegrass at the Beach will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. A variety of food vendors will be in attendance and both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages will be available. Tickets to the one-day festival are $55 general admission and $45 for MKAF members. VIP tables, which include priority seating for eight and drink tickets, are available for $750.
