
4 Policies Our Destin Beachfront Hotel Has Implemented to Keep Our Guests and Staff Safe
We at Henderson Park Inn are excited to re-open our Destin beachfront hotel on May 15. However, as COVID-19 continues to impact our country, we’d like to do our very best to keep our guests and our staff safe and healthy, so we’ve developed an extensive document filled with new policies and procedures to help prevent the spread of germs.
You can read over the full document on our website, but here are four examples of policies we plan on practicing when we reopen on May 15:
1. We encourage all guests to strive for no-contact interactions with our staff.
While we’d like to believe that we’ve already thought of everything you need at our Destin beachfront hotel, we know sometimes you need to request something—fresh towels, an extra wine glass, room service– from our staff. In the past, stopping by the front desk to chat in person wouldn’t be an issue, but to keep in-person contact to a minimum, we’re asking guests to use their cell phone or the phone in their room to call the front desk to make that request. From there, a staff member can deliver the item to the guests’ assigned beach chair or their room in a contact-less manner.
2. Breakfast will no longer be a buffet.
As an all-inclusive Destin beachfront hotel, we provide breakfast and lunch in addition to much more with your room. We used to have a daily breakfast buffet, but now, our breakfast staff is providing two options to guests: delivery of a boxed breakfast to their room or a made-to-order breakfast on the deck. Guests can order their breakfast the night before by calling down to the front desk, and when they wake, a delicious, fresh breakfast will be waiting at their door. Or, if they’d rather wait to see what they are in the mood for in the morning, they can go down to our dining room, order what they’d like to eat, and a server will deliver their meal to a table outside on our back deck.
3. Our staff is required and our guests are asked to wash/sanitize their hands frequently.
One of the best ways to stop the spread of germs is proper hand hygiene. We’ve installed numerous hand sanitizing stations throughout our Destin beachfront hotel to encourage all those who pass by them to sanitize their hands. In addition, our staff is required to, at a minimum, wash or sanitize their hands every 30 minutes. We’ve also required our staff to wear masks at all times and utilize glove use when necessary.
4. We’re encouraging everyone to practice social distancing.
From the moment a guest arrives at our Destin beachfront hotel, there will be a staff member there to help instruct them on our self-imposed restriction on the number of guests that are permitted in the lobby at one time. We have floor decals and signage to remind guests and staff to maintain a six-foot separation, and while our beach chairs usually sit six-feet apart, we’ll be watching to ensure social distancing is maintained on our beach as well.
With an extensive six page document as our general guide, we have numerous other policies and procedures that we’re putting into place to keep all those at Henderson Park Inn safe. Still, we hope this short sampling shows you our commitment to keeping the staff and guests at our Destin beachfront hotel safe.
