With Destin local designer Alec Hritz, who was part of the White House Christmas decorating team in 2019, at the helm, our beachfront hotel in Destin Florida is ready to show off the most spectacular Christmas décor it’s ever displayed.

“We honored to have a decorator with this kind of resume at the inn,” said Shannon Howell, owner representation and the general manager of Henderson Park Inn. “[Hritz] is so incredibly talented, and the inn looks more festive than it ever has.”

Hritz and his team spend three days decorating the two buildings of Henderson Park Inn, which now features five Christmas trees and festive displays throughout the property. He hopes that, as guests approach the inn, they’ll feel welcomed by the classy coastal Christmas charm that was his vision when decorating the inn.

They started with the main building lobby and within hours of beginning the decorating process we had guests showering the team with compliments, stating how wonderful and elegant it all looked. Each bit of décor used perfectly complements the coastal New England charm that the inn has boasted for years.

But, how did our little beachfront hotel in Destin Florida end up with an interior decorator that once decorated the White House?

Henderson Park Inn found Hritz, not through his interior design company or the White House decorating team, but through his daughter, who is currently the guest services manager at our all-inclusive, boutique hotel. When Hayden, his daughter, mentioned the upcoming task of decorating the inn, he jumped at the chance.

“After walking the inn and chatting with the team, I knew this was a project I couldn’t pass up,” said Hrtiz. “And since I wasn’t able to go to the White House this year, Henderson Park Inn was the next best thing.”

The Christmas Eve dinner is set to feature traditional holiday favorites as well as a few of Chef Daniel Peters’s specialties, and the New Year’s Eve dinner is the perfect way to celebrate the end of 2020, featuring a complimentary glass of champagne with your meal.
